How To Get Out Of A Creative Rut

This past week I hit a MAJOR productivity roadblock. Maybe it's because I've been traveling a lot and that kicks me out of my normal routine. Maybe it's because I just hosted the hottest 🔥 wellness event of the summer this past Sunday and it took a lot out of me. Whatever it is.... It happens quite often actually. Creative roadblocks that is!!

Lot's of my work consists of creating content behind a computer. 💻 It's super easy for me to lose steam when I'm not laser focused and feel scatter brained with a million and one projects on my plate.

So how do I get out of my creative rut and get back into productivity mode? I take a step outside! ☀️ Listen - it's so tempting to want to reach for another cup of coffee ☕️ for the sake of powering though.... but studies show taking time to step away from work and spend just a few minutes in nature can completely shift your state of mind.

According to a study shared in neuroscientist Dr. Rahul Jandial's best selling book called: Neurofitness: A Brain Surgeon's Secrets to Boost Performance and Unleash Creativity...... ✨Spending time OUTSIDE boosts CREATIVITY✨

Researchers enrolled 30 men and 26 women in a simple experiment. Half took a creativity test the morning before a 4 day hiking trip; the other half took the test afterward. And the result? Those who took the test AFTER their wilderness experience scored 50% higher for creativity than those who took it before the trip. - @thechalkboardmag

But here's the thing you guys... you don’t have to spend 4 days outside in nature to boost creativity. A 20 minute walk will definitely do the trick too. I take multiple walks a day around the beautiful city I live in to fuel my creative fire and let me tell you... I feel so refreshed and ready to go again after a quick stroll near the river listening to a Christian playlist or a podcast. 🎧

A little movement and some fresh air is one major way I get my productivity soaring.
